Position Summary

The Research Analyst plays a key cross-program role on the Program Direction team, which oversees all aspects of ERB’s products, as well as all research, development, and psychometric project-work. The Research Analyst prepares datasets for analysis, conducts statistical analyses, and creates effective displays of analytical results that support meaningful interpretations. He/she works with internal teams to support a data-driven, scientific approach to program management in the areas of market, customer, and competitive analytics; and with external vendors to ensure that all statistical analysis deliverables are completed with total accuracy according to established requirements.


Major Responsibilities
  • Work with large-scale data sets from internal and/ or external sources. Organize data files, document their features, and archive information in ways that create a data infrastructure and sustainable legacy.
  • Analyze internal ERB program data and/or external market data to support program direction needs, including annual program deliverables such as norms, as well as strategic analyses to support ERB growth initiatives.
  • Conduct quality assurance work to ensure vendor deliverables meet ERB requirements and are error-free. Receive, process, screen, and qualify deliverables according to work plan schedules.
  • Conduct user acceptance testing of assessment results while they are in staging environments to ensure that statistical results are correctly populated on score reports.
  • Visualize complex data in the form of simple, clear, and effective graphics, charts, and tables.
  • Collaborate on research projects with external researchers and consultants.
  • Collaborate with the Program Direction team to support a data-driven, scientific approach to strategic product management in the areas of market segmentation, customer acquisition, and competitive analytics.
  • Create systems for transparent audit trails of all analyses.
  • Collaborate with The Member Experience team to support market research initiatives from conceptualization to report writing.
  • Adhere to and ensure that all relevant stakeholders adhere to ethical standards for safeguarding data and keeping student information secure.
  • Collaborate with fellow analysts and members of the Leadership Team to create standardized processes and procedures for data management, documentation, analysis, and quality control.
Ideal Experience

The Research Analyst will have a strong background in data and analytics to drive operational deliverables and internal business needs and, ideally, the following experience:


  • Undergraduate or graduate degree in data science, statistics, or a social science field focused on data analysis.
  • Proficiency in statistical software and spreadsheet programs such as SAS, R, MS Excel, Google sheets, etc.
  • Experience working with large data sets, technical documentation, research environments.
  • Ethical conduct in all things.
