ISEE At Home

Just like an on-campus administration! Your school can choose your desired test dates, invite your desired applicants to participate, and administer the exam to students directly using your own staff. Proctors receive an honoraria for their service.

The significant differences are 1) the use of an ERB-developed testing platform, which uses a secure browser to “lock” students’ screens, and enables your proctors to monitor students during testing; 2) check-in procedures unique to students testing in the home environments; and 3) an extra step for proctors to reach out to registered families on the day of their scheduled test(s) to share the Session Numbers that families use to sign into their exams.

The School Administered ISEE At Home allows schools to directly assess their applicants using school staff. With this testing option, schools set up their own test administrations in ERB's Admission Registration System, invite students to test by sharing their private event codes, and then administer exams to those students. Testing fees ($140) are identical to on-campus ISEE testing, and ERB provides honoraria to staff involved in administering tests.

With the ISEE At Home via Prometric, students do not need to be invited to test by a school. Students can sign up for exams on-demand, with administration provided by Prometric staff. Students can then direct their scores to application schools. Fees for Prometric-administered exams ($200) are higher than for school-administered exams. Like school-administered exams, students can register in our Admission Registration System.

Schools must be ERB members to receive ISEE score reports and administer exams, regardless of which ISEE At Home testing option is preferred.

ERB advises schools that choose the School Administered ISEE At Home to set a maximum capacity of 8 students per administration. This is to limit burdens on proctors and preserve system resources to prevent technological issues to the extent possible.

No! The procedure is fairly intuitive and the testing platform (secure browser) has been designed for easy use. However, the test set-up and administration processes do have discrete steps that must be performed precisely and in order.

Proctors and Testing Supervisors should review our available ISEE At Home Administration Guide (see below) in addition to the level-appropriate ISEE Online Directions for Administration to ensure they are familiar with testing protocols, and prepared to handle any questions that arise prior to or during testing. Families pay the same fee of $140 for School Administered ISEE At Home exams as for on-campus testing. This is less than the fee for ISEE At Home via Prometric exams and testing at a Prometric Test Center ($200).

Schools must be ERB members to administer ISEE tests or receive ISEE score reports. If you are interested in signing up an expedited, ISEE-only membership, please fill out this form and select “ERB Membership” in the appropriate dropdown menu.

Schools do not administer the ISEE At Home via Prometric. Exams are administered by Prometric staff and families direct their scores to their application schools. As such, there are no instructions needed!
