Eileen Turnbull started her career as an early childhood educator in the Bronx, New York, before moving on to serve as an educational consultant advising on early literacy programs for the New York City Department of Education. Prior to taking her current position in 2014 as the Executive Director of Admission Testing at ERB, she served as the Director of New York City Assessment Programs, where she led in the planning and execution of the New York City Specialized High School and the Gifted & Talented Assessments.
At ERB Ms. Turnbull works with admission directors and educators to provide resources in support of the Pre-K and Grade 1 Independent School admission process. She also serves as part of a collaborative team researching and developing a three-pronged inventory of social and emotional learning that will assist educators in identifying the student behaviors that most influence individual student performance. Ms. Turnbull sees this work as a direct extension of her career-long commitment to supporting access and opportunity for all learners.
Ms. Turnbull received a bachelor’s degree in Education and Psychology at the College of New Rochelle and holds an MSEd from Iona College.
