An experienced educator and school administrator, Pamela Appleton joined ERB in 2008 as a Member Services Consultant and in 2011 became a Regional Director, offering direct support to our many member schools. Since 2015 Pamela has been Executive Director of the Writing Achievement Programs, with a focus on providing actionable results from our writing assessments by aligning them with instructional strategies.
As an administrator, Ms. Appleton founded both a magnet, dual language immersion school and an early childhood center in an urban setting, as well as leading the design and reorganization of a 1000 student school with a collaborative, team based structure in a suburban setting. She was a member of the Massachusetts State Commission that set educational goals for the state’s new curriculum frameworks.
Ms. Appleton has conducted district-wide program evaluations of K-12 literacy instruction and a system/school’s development as a professional learning community. She has a bachelor’s degree in American Studies from Lake Forest College, a master’s degree in Education from Simmons College, and a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies in Educational Leadership and Administration K-12 from the University of Massachusetts.
