What's New for Families?

Students may test more than once

Starting in August of 2016, students may register to take the ISEE one time in any or all of three testing seasons. The ISEE testing seasons are defined as Fall (August–November), Winter (December–March), and Spring/Summer (April–July). ISEE does not encourage multiple testing, but we do offer students and families that option.

Admission officers may implement the ISEE seasonal testing policy in a way that best fits the requirements of their individual offices.  For example, some schools may ask a family to submit all score reports for an admission season; others may ask that only one score report be submitted.  This decision is completely up to each individual admission office.  Families should review and abide by the application guidelines set by each ERB member school to which they are applying.

Families may review scores before sharing them with a school

For the first time, families are not required to select a school score recipient at the time of registration. Families may receive and view a score report before releasing it to a school*.  If a student tests more than once in a 12-month admission cycle, score reports will not reflect how many times the student tested. Only a complete score report can be released to a school—families may not select only portions of a report for release.

*Parents should verify any specific score reporting requirements/deadlines with the schools to which their student is applying.

Testing Accommodations

Starting in August, families can register online for ISEE accommodations for 2016-2017 in any of the testing seasons.

Testing Fees will remain the same for 2016-2017

Schools and Prometric Testing Centers will continue to provide ISEE administration. Testing fees are the same as they were in 2015-2016. Testing in a large group at a school is $105 and testing at a Prometric office is $185.  Fee waivers are available at all test sites for qualifying families . Please contact the school to which you are applying to request a waiver.
