Getting Scores

In general, score reports are available 10-14 business days after testing. Your score reports are released online in your parent account, and are automatically shared with any schools that you have chosen to receive your student's scores.

Score Report Recipients

Families will always automatically receive a copy of their student's score report. You are not required to share your student's scores with any school. If you choose to share your student's scores, you can select score recipients at the time of registration or after viewing your student's scores. There is no extra fee for adding schools after the report is generated. However, always be mindful of school application deadlines as you decide when to share scores. You may remove schools from your score recipient list up until your student's test date—schools cannot be removed from the list after your student tests.
Only a complete score report can be sent to a school—families cannot select only portions of a report to share nor can they select one section of scores from one ISEE test and another section of scores from a different ISEE test. Your student's list of score recipients is not shared with any schools.
The fastest and easiest way to manage your student's list of score recipients is from your parent account online. There is an additional fee to manage your list of score recipients by phone with the ISEE Operations at 1 (800) 446-0320 or (919) 956-8524.

Re-Scoring for a Different Grade $40
In certain circumstances, a student’s test can be re-scored for one grade below or above the application grade noted in the student's registration information. However, this is generally only done when the student is under consideration for repeating a grade. Due to differences between test levels, not all grades can be rescored.
Primary Levels
Primary 2, 3, or 4 Level tests (applying to Grade 2-4 respectively) cannot be rescored.
Lower Level
If the student took a Lower Level test (applying to Grade 5 or 6) the test can be scored for application to either Grade 5 or Grade 6.
Middle Level
If the student took a Middle Level test (applying to Grade 7 or 8) the test can be scored for application to either Grade 7 or Grade 8.
Upper Level
If the student took an Upper Level test (applying to Grade 9-12) the test can be scored for application to either Grade 9, 10, 11, or 12.

Understanding Score Reports

In general, ISEE scores show what a student has gradually learned over a period of time. The report provides an overview of a student’s performance on each of the subtests compared to that of students in the same grade over the last three years. It also delineates a student’s performance on each test broken down by subsection. The essay is not scored. However, schools still receive a copy of it. Student essays are not shared with families because of the high security of ISEE essay prompts.
Score reports do not indicate how many times a student has tested or to which schools a student's scores have been sent.
